Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Inc. is looking to fill the position of Cashier/Host Staff, at Fernie Alpine Resort.  Reporting to the Daylodge Supervisor, the ideal candidate will have previous cash handling experience; have an excellent knowledge of customer service, and an eye for detail.  Some of the responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:


  • To ensure a comfortable and friendly atmosphere for both guests and staff
  • To assist and upsell guests at every opportunity
  • Maintaining policies and procedures of RCR and Safety Management Program
  • Ensuring a clean and safe working environment by following proper HACCP procedures
  • Proper rotation procedures (FIFO)
  • Cashier duty, ring in all food items quickly and precisely, cash outs
  • Refresh and restock the area as necessary
  • Lift, load and carry boxes up and down stairs
  • Daily, ongoing cleaning of guest tables, food service counters, condiment counter and garbage/recycle stations
  • Positive communication with your teammates / multitasking / teamwork
  • Other duties assigned by the supervisor or manager
  • Know and adhere to the policies, rules and protocols outlined in the RCR Employee Handbook
  • Know and follow all safe work procedures included in the Safety Management Program
  • Know and comply with all expectations of the Injury Management/Return-to-Work Programs
  • To perform other tasks and duties that are applicable


  • Previous cash handling experience
  • Serving it Right certification an asset
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Physically capable
