What if you have the right skills but don’t have the right certification? We will pay for your ECE Assistant or Responsible Adult certification, which are entry-level courses so that you can start working at the childcare center. Further funding is available for continuing certification courses through our Education Fund.

What skills are we looking for? We are looking for staff that will complement our Staff Team in a variety of roles and responsibilities including but not limited to:
Plan and implement activities and programs to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program
Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable
Implement positive discipline when required
Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand
Ensure adequate equipment and activities provided
Ensure equipment and facility are clean, well maintained and safe at all times
Collaborate with co-workers to coordinate weekly schedules of activities for staff and parents
Ensure all Fernie Child Care Society Policies and Procedures are well known and effectively implemented at all times
Communicate effectively with children, parents, Manager and Board of Directors

Are there requirements for the jobs?

Yes, a valid certificate is required for the ECE, ECE IT, ECE Assistant and Responsible Adult positions. All candidates will require a criminal record check, character references, copy of certificate and valid First Aid/CPR training

If you aren’t yet certified we can help fund the entry levels courses and if you want to take further courses we can help with funding for those too.
