About us

The Fernie Museum is a vibrant, community-based cultural institution which integrates regional history, art and culture to understand, communicate and preserve what is unique about our community and region.

We are looking for a creative and organized Marketing and Visitor Services Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating marketing content and maintaining and operating the Museum front desk, gift shop, and main floor area. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.


  • Serve as a positive ambassador for the Fernie Museum and Fernie and District Historical society; maintain a friendly, helpful, professional demeanour.
  • Handling all front desk & reception duties such as responding to and forwarding emails, taking messages, responding to inquiries, and handling retail, ticket, and membership sales.
  • Develop and update creative content for marketing materials such as social media, websites, monthly newsletter, and print media.
