Would you lead our international skiers on a life-changing experience?

You are someone with a contagious, positive, enthusiastic attitude to inspire people to try all the great things that people do for fun in the mountains. Show people what life in Fernie is all about, friends, a great community and an active lifestyle.

As a host of the holiday and instructor training camps, you are the face of Nonstop and the main go-to person for your clients. Get to know them at daily meals, check how they are doing by dropping in on lessons, lead and coordinate midweek social activities and take them on weekend outings. You will be the one they trust to call when they have an emergency or an issue, because you know how to get things done and resolve issues.  Your computer and organizational skills allow you to deliver programing smoothly and efficiently. Your snow school and outdoor leadership experience gives you the confidence to lead any group and inspires people to live an outdoor lifestyle. You are their role model for our mandate: a cultural immersion into Canadian mountain life.

Your average day is anything but average. Depending on the day, expect to be the auctioneer of a charity fashion show, or a street hockey ref, or a bus driver. Maybe next week you will be snowshoeing, hosting a trip to Panorama or organizing a volunteer event. Every day you will be a problem solver, photographer and a best friend. You are organized and like to have a plan in place but able to think on your feet and roll with the punches when hiccups happen. You are the type of person who is getting involved in community events and taking advantage of all that Fernie has to offer — organizing 60 more people to join you seems like no big deal!

In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive a free season’s pass, free meals and a ski uniform.  The split shift schedule allows for ski breaks, and you will get to participate in many of the Nonstop activities. This is a full-time seasonal position December to mid-April. Staff Accommodation may be available.

Applicants must have:

• Leadership and/or event planning experience.
• A clean drivers abstract showing 3 years of records, approved by ICBC.
• Class 2 bus drivers license with air brakes endorsement (training can be provided).
• Ski or snowboard instruction experience, CSIA or CASI certification preferred.
• Good knowledge of the Fernie area.
• Post secondary education.
• Proficiency with Microsoft computer applications.
• a Canadian work permit / residency or citizenship.

Wage: $25-$26.50/ hour
