Bike Shop Grom – Youth Retail Associate

Part-time (3 days a week), Summer Position

Join our legendary local bike shop in downtown Fernie, where you can leave work to hit the trails! Become part of our award-winning team in a rad, customer-focused environment. We value exceptional customer service and authentic relationships, and we’re looking for passionate individuals who love biking, skiing, and the outdoors.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities 

• Cover basic front-line duties, including POS, sales, rentals, and customer service
• Follow through on tasks given by management promptly
• Direct customers to the proper staff when necessary
• Share product knowledge and enthusiasm for bikes with customers
• Direct customers through the entire sales process
• Complete a multitude of daily opening and closing duties
• Complete all necessary forms and paperwork in the appropriate manner
• Maintain a high level of product knowledge
• Respond to customer concerns, or direct accordingly

Qualifications:

• Must be friendly, approachable and passionate about biking and other outdoor sports!
• Experience in a customer service role
• Previous sports retail experience preferred but not necessary
• Must be knowledgeable about mountain bikes, ski equipment and/or other outdoor activities and gear
• The ability to multitask in a high-energy, fast-paced environment is a must
• Knowledge of the local Fernie trail system is an asset

Wage: $17.85/hr,  aligned with the candidate’s experience and capabilities
