Location: Kimberley / Cranbrook / Fernie (East Kootenays)
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Competitive + Performance Bonuses
Company: StompGear Inc.
StompGear is launching the Kootenays’ first peer-to-peer adventure gear rental platform — a place where locals can rent out their own bikes, skis, snow gear, power sports equipment and more. We’re building something exciting for our mountain community, and we need the right person to help us take it from early launch to a thriving marketplace.
About the Role
We’re looking for a driven, outgoing Community & Growth Manager to help get StompGear off the ground. You’ll work directly with the founder to grow our user base, support gear owners, strengthen local partnerships, and make StompGear the go-to platform for adventure rentals in the East Kootenays.
This is a hands-on, fast-moving role where you’ll wear multiple hats — marketing, community building, business outreach, customer support, and general operations. If you love the outdoors, thrive on talking to people, and enjoy building something from the ground up, this might be the perfect fit.
What You’ll Do
Marketing & Community Building
-
Help manage social media content, posts, and engagement.
-
Promote the platform through community events, local groups, clubs, and online forums.
-
Grow the StompGear community by connecting with adventure enthusiasts and local families.
Business & Gear Owner Outreach
-
Approach local shops, retailers, outfitters, rental companies, and clubs to bring more gear onto the platform.
-
Assist individuals with creating their listings and improving listing quality.
-
Build positive relationships with early adopters to keep them engaged and supported.
Operational Support
-
Assist with platform monitoring, basic customer support, and responding to questions.
-
Help implement marketing campaigns, prize giveaways, and launch pushes.
-
Contribute ideas and take initiative on whatever needs doing during launch and growth.
Who You Are
-
Outgoing, confident, and great at talking to people
-
Self-starter with strong initiative — you don’t need hand-holding
-
Organized and able to manage multiple tasks
-
Solid understanding of social media and community engagement
-
Tech-savvy and quick to learn new tools
-
Passionate about the outdoors and adventure sports
-
Comfortable with sales-style outreach and forming business relationships
-
Excited to build a new platform from the ground up
Nice-to-Haves
(Not required but awesome if you have them)
-
Experience in marketing, communications, sales, or community management
-
Familiarity with Cranbrook, Kimberley, and Fernie communities
-
Photography, videography, or basic content creation skills
-
Previous work with startups or small businesses
Compensation
-
Competitive salary based on experience
-
Performance bonuses tied to platform growth and gear listings
-
Flexible schedule — some remote work is fine
-
Perks related to gear rentals and outdoor activities
