Job description:

Our maintenance team is responsible for ensuring that everything in the hotel is in good working order, maintains the grounds, and helps with our ski shuttle services in the winter months.

Responsibilities include:
Communicating with staff about maintenance needs and projects in a positive manner.
Daily hotel related tasks:

  • Daily hotel walk-through,
  • Pool/Hot Tub maintenance, testing chemicals,
  • Preventative and seasonal maintenance for hotel,
  • Generate and respond to work orders for issues with hotel and outlying properties,
  • Arrange for contractors to fix large issues & meet as necessary,
  • Exterior/interior building grounds-keeping and regular maintenance,
  • Shoveling snow, moving furniture, and other light lifting.

Hotel improvement projects such as:

  • Light framing/construction (deck repair, interior wall construction, etc)
  • Drywall repair and painting
  • Light plumbing & electrical (light fixture installation, tap/faucet repair, etc),
  • Job site prep/demolition.
  • Liaising with external contractors on individual jobs & projects beyond the scope of the maintenance department as determined in consultation with the General Manager.

Shuttle Driving in the winter months:

  • Class 2 license with airbrakes required (company will pay for and train)
  • Light vehicle maintenance and upkeep.

EMPLOYEE REQUIREMENTS

  • General handyman skills
  • Problem solving aptitude
  • Well organized and able to multitask
  • Clean driver’s abstract available
  • Experienced and comfortable with winter driving

Job Hours

Weekends and weekdays are part of the schedule.  This position ranges from 3-5 days per week, up to 8hrs per day, depending on seasonal needs.  Daytime hours are the norm but there are occasional overnight or after-hours projects scheduled.
