Location: Fernie / Cranbrook / Kimberley | $28/hr + commission | Flexible Hours | Vehicle Mileage Paid

StompGear is the Kootenays’ first peer-to-peer adventure gear rental platform—think Airbnb, but for bikes, skis, paddleboards, camera kits, power sports gear, and outdoor services. We connect individuals and businesses who want to earn more from the gear and skills they already have.

We’re growing fast—and we’re looking for someone local to help bring businesses on board.

🎯 About the Role

We’re hiring a motivated and outgoing Business Development Rep to help expand our network of local gear shops, outfitters, and outdoor service providers. You’ll visit shops, explain the value of joining StompGear, and help them get set up on the platform.

This is a flexible, part-time (or full-time) field-based role. You’ll have ownership over your own schedule and territory.

🛠️ What You’ll Do

• Visit local businesses to introduce StompGear (e.g. bike shops, ski shops, outfitters, guides, rental shops, photographers, etc.)
• Explain how they can list gear or services and earn more with no upfront costs
• Help them create listings and navigate the platform
• Follow up with interested leads to get them fully onboarded
• Track visits and outcomes using a simple CRM
• Share feedback from the field to help improve our tools and marketing

🧭 What We’re Looking For

• Outgoing and confident communicator—you’re comfortable walking into a store and starting a conversation
• Familiar with the outdoor industry (bikes, skis, adventure gear, guiding, etc.)
• Self-motivated with good time management
• Tech-comfortable (you’ll be using our web platform and some basic tracking tools)
• Based in or near Fernie, Cranbrook, or Kimberley
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle

💰 Compensation

• $28/hour base rate
• Commission paid per successful signup:
  • $50 for each business that lists at least one item
  • Up to $300 for businesses that fully onboard (3+ listings + profile)
• Vehicle mileage reimbursed
• Bonus opportunities for strong monthly performance
