Nufloors Fernie is looking for a dynamic and customer-focused Paint Department Manager to lead our Benjamin Moore Paint Department. We are a locally owned, family-oriented business that takes pride in quality products, expert advice, and exceptional customer service.
About the Role
As the Paint Department Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Benjamin Moore paint department while actively working to grow and expand the business. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management. This role is ideal for someone entrepreneurial who is driven to increase sales, build relationships, and elevate the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and operate the Benjamin Moore paint department
- Provide expert advice on paint products, colour selection, and application techniques
- Oversee retail sales activities, including pricing strategies, merchandising, and promotional campaigns to maximize revenue
- Handle customer service inquiries with professionalism, utilizing phone etiquette and strong communication skills to resolve issues promptly
- Mix and tint paint accurately using in-store systems
- Maintain inventory, place orders, and manage stock levels
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organized store environment
- Ensure department is clean, organized, and visually appealing
- Build strong relationships with homeowners, contractors, and designers
- Proactively seek out new business opportunities and grow paint sales
- Assist with merchandising and product displays
- Work collaboratively with the flooring and sales teams
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in paint sales, retail, or a related field (preferred)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
- Interest in colour, design, and home improvement
- Comfortable learning technical aspects of paint systems and products
- Self-motivated with a drive to grow and expand the department
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
