Job description:

The Building Maintenance Assistant will play a crucial role in maintaining the overall functionality and appearance of our housing facilities. This individual will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, addressing repair requests, and ensuring that our properties meet the highest standards of safety and livability. The Maintenance Technician will under the Maintenance Manager and collaborate with the property management, contributing to creating a positive living environment for our residents.

Responsibilities:

Conduct routine inspections of the property to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.

Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and efficiency of building systems and equipment.

Respond to maintenance requests from residents and addressing general maintenance issues.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and equipment inventory.

Assist in the implementation of safety and security measures within the housing facilities.

Collaborate with the property management team to address resident concerns and ensure a positive living environment.

Participate in on-call duties for emergency maintenance issues outside of regular business hours.

Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations while performing maintenance tasks.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in maintenance is a plus.

Proven experience in general and minor routine maintenance, including light fixture changes; minor drywall repairs; filter replacements; general knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry (anything needing ticketed trade is contracted out).

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with residents and team members.

Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to implement them effectively.

Flexibility to respond to emergency maintenance issues outside of regular working hours.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

(Will consider limited experience with general comfort in maintenance environments with on-site training; pay will reflect experience)
