We’re seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience across a range of carpentry tasks and a strong work ethic. Wage is based on experience and skill set.
Responsibilities:
• Construct, install and repair structures and fixtures (wood, plywood, wallboard).
• Measure, cut and shape wood, plastic, fiberglass and drywall.
• Build/repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors and other fixtures.
• Maintain and repair tools and equipment; follow blueprints and building plans; inspect work for code compliance.
Common projects (experience with any is an asset):
- Bathroom renovations
- Fences
- Decks
- Kitchen fit-outs
- Basement renovations
- Painting
- Drywalling
- Framing
- Demolition
- Emergency flood response
- Water-damage remediation
- Leadership experience and trailer handling (hitching, hauling, reversing) are valuable
Requirements: secondary school (preferred); 1+ year carpentry (preferred); English required; driving licence required; Fernie, BC (preferred).
