Our goal is to help people discover real cheese and gourmet foods. We source exceptional artisan cheeses from celebrated Canadian and European cheesemakers, along with specialty charcuterie and gourmet pantry items. We believe great food brings people together, and we love sharing the story behind every wheel we carry.
The Role
You will be one of the welcoming faces of our shop. You will guide customers through our curated selection of artisan cheeses and gourmet foods, offer thoughtful recommendations, and help each guest leave with something they will love.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service: Welcome guests, offer tastings, and recommend cheeses, charcuterie, and specialty foods with confidence.
- Care for the cheese: Protect product quality by cutting, wrapping, rotating, and properly maintaining our cheese inventory.
- Fulfill special orders: Create custom cheese and charcuterie boards and assemble gift baskets.
- Maintain and merchandise the shop: Keep shelves, displays, and counters clean, organized, and well stocked; prepare cheese and charcuterie boards; and assemble and wrap gift baskets.
- Support daily operations: Process point-of-sale transactions, slice deli meats, and help receive inventory shipments.
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine enthusiasm for food, artisan products, and culinary discovery.
- Previous experience in food industry, retail or customer service.
- Clear communication skills and a warm, approachable manner.
- The ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 20 kg (40 lb).
- Availability to work independently, including on weekends and holidays.
- BC Foodsafe certification.
