Münter Design & Build is hiring construction labourers for our custom-home projects in Fernie.

Construction experience is an asset, but it is not required. We are primarily looking for dependable people who show up on time, work hard, follow instructions, and want to learn.

If you have a good attitude and take pride in doing your work properly, we want to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work alongside our carpenters, site supervisors, project managers, and trades. Your work may include:

• Preparing and cleaning job sites
• Moving, loading, and organizing materials
• Helping carpenters and trades with daily tasks
• Setting up work areas and making sure materials are ready
• Assisting with backing, blocking, basic framing, and other carpentry tasks when capable
• Using hand tools and power tools safely
• Protecting finished work and keeping sites clean and organized
• Helping the team keep projects moving safely and efficiently

The work is physical and takes place indoors and outdoors throughout the year.

What we’re looking for

You do not need extensive construction experience. We are looking for people who are:

• Reliable, punctual, and ready to work
• Comfortable with physical work and lifting construction materials
• Willing to work outdoors in different weather conditions
• Able to listen, follow instructions, and ask questions when unsure
• Safety-minded and respectful of clients, coworkers, and neighbouring properties
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Interested in learning construction and developing practical skills

Previous construction, carpentry, equipment, landscaping, or other physical work experience is an asset, but it is not required.

A valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation are strongly preferred.

Pay and benefits

• $28–$34/hour, depending on experience, skills, and ability to work independently

Candidates without construction experience can start at the lower end of the range. Higher starting wages are available for people with construction experience, tool knowledge, equipment experience, or the ability to complete tasks independently.
