Equipment Operator 
Location: Fernie, BC

We’re looking for a reliable and experienced Equipment Operator to join our crew in Fernie, BC. If you take pride in operating equipment safely and efficiently and enjoy working outdoors, we’d like to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Operate excavators, wheel loaders, dump trucks, and skid steers safely and efficiently.
  • Perform excavation, grading, loading, hauling, and site preparation.
  • Complete winter snow removal using a wheel loader equipped with 6-way snow blades.
  • Perform landscaping and earthworks, including building rock walls and retaining walls, tree planting, finish grading, shaping and drainage, and final site preparation.
  • Load, haul, and manage materials for construction and landscaping projects, including trucking coordination and material management.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance.
  • Work closely with supervisors and crew members to complete projects safely and on schedule.
  • Follow all WorkSafeBC regulations.
  • Keep equipment clean and report any maintenance or repair needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating excavators, wheel loaders, dump trucks, and skid steers.
  • Experience with snow removal using a wheel loader is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience with landscaping projects, including rock walls, retaining walls, finish grading, drainage, and material handling.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (Class 1 or Class 3 is an asset).
  • Strong understanding of safe operating practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.
  • Experience in civil construction, excavation, earthworks, or landscaping is considered an asset.
