About the Fernie Alpine Ski Team:
Founded in 1980 as the Elk Valley Racers Society, FAST has supported thousands of athletes and families over nearly 50 years. Today, the club includes 170 athletes from over 100 families, ranging in age from 5 to 20, representing the Elk Valley, Kootenays, Southern Alberta, and beyond. Several alumni have gone on to compete at the World Cup and Olympic levels, proudly representing our Community on the world stage.
About the Role:
Fernie Alpine Ski Team is looking for a part time Club Manager for the 26/27 season.
Beginning November 1st and ending April 30th this new role will report to the Program Director and will work with the Head Coaches, Program administrator and the Board on planning, communication, and execution of events, travel and club races through all age groups.
The Club Manager will be responsible for:
● Coordinating communication across Parents, Coaches, the Board and Athletes.
● Working with Coaches to plan out training, travel and races calendars and
communicating and updating these plans to the appropriate age groups
● Helping to organise and execute FAST Events through the year
● Coordination of training space
● Work with Program Administrator and Bookkeeper
● Work with Board and Head Coaches on club policy and procedures
● Support Parent Ambassadors for each age group
● Tracking allocation of Coaching Equipment
Qualifications:
– Alpine Ski Racing Background preferred
– Have some experience in planning and execution with sports teams or smaller
organizations
– Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills
– Dedicated to the entire season
– Team oriented with the ability to take direction, work with the entire coaching staff
– Comfortable in working with Parents and Athletes and Coaches in a professional
manner
– Will be required before the season starts to complete safe sport and a background
check.
– Work flexible hours which will include evenings and weekends
– Valid Work Permit (if applicable)
Compensation
$20-25/HR Depending on experience 20 hours a week November 1 until April 30th
