5 Gen Construction Ltd. is seeking a journeyman/woman carpenter to join our team. Founded in 2017 – 5 Gen is an established company focused on providing quality work on efficient timelines. This is a permanent, full-time position.

The successful candidate will:

*take direction from the lead carpenter when on site with them, take the lead on sites where the lead carpenter isn’t present

*be proficient in all aspects of general construction including exterior finishing, interior finishing, renovations, additions, and framing

*have a valid class 5 driver’s license, be comfortable moving/parking work trailers

*be able to pass a criminal record check

*will have their own belt with hand tools, steel-toed boots and all weather work wear

*help maintain and do minor repair work to company tools

*maintain a professional and courteous demeanour on site with clients, sub-trades and builders and on/off site with co-workers and their employer

*be capable and willing to work in all-weather and at heights

*be capable of heavy lifting and comfortable working with power tools and saws

*have a willingness to learn new skills in construction trades, including shingle and metal roofing installation

*will have completed their ticket with Skilled Trades BC or have equivalent training/experience

*fall arrest training an asset

*opportunity to move up in the company for the right candidate

The compensation for this job includes:

*Hourly wage including STAT holiday pay and overtime pay, wage determined by experience
