Journeyperson Carpenter

$36–$40/hour | Full-Time | Start Immediately

Freestone Construction is a licensed residential builder based in Fernie, BC. We specialize in
renovations, additions, and custom homes, with a focus on quality workmanship, clear
communication, and well-managed projects.
We are looking for a Journeyperson Carpenter who can step into an active workload and
contribute right away. This role suits someone who is confident working independently, takes
ownership of their work, and maintains a high standard on site.

Key Responsibilities:

 Execute a wide range of carpentry tasks from framing through finishing
 Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
 Work closely with project managers, lead hands, and subcontractors
 Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
 Identify and communicate issues proactively
 Support and mentor apprentices as needed

Requirements:

 Journeyperson Carpenter certification or equivalent experience
 Strong understanding of residential construction practices and sequencing
 Ability to work independently and as part of a team
 High attention to detail and quality control
 Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
 Own basic hand tools

Preferred Experience:

 Residential renovations and additions
 Working in occupied homes
 Leading small crews or managing scopes independently
