The Role: Kitchen Manager
You’re not just running a kitchen — you’re leading a team, shaping culture, and ensuring every plate that leaves the pass meets our standards.
What You Bring

3+ years of experience as a chef

A strong understanding of kitchen best practices

Experience in fast-paced, high-volume environments

The ability to delegate and manage multiple priorities

Initiative to proactively solve problems

A positive, professional approach with staff and guests
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
-
Managing a busy, high-volume kitchen
-
Working shifts as Head Cook
-
Ensuring kitchen operations are organized, efficient, and timely
-
Building and maintaining a positive team culture
-
Recruiting, training, mentoring, and documenting staff performance
-
Providing guidance and disciplinary action when necessary
Menus, Costs & Inventory
-
Setting menus and standardizing recipes
-
Food costing and inventory management using “MarketMan”
-
Monitoring and controlling food and labour costs
-
Ordering and monitoring supplies
-
Working closely with suppliers to ensure quality and value
-
Conducting inventory on a regular schedule
-
Assisting management in reducing food and labour costs where possible
-
Working with the accounting department to ensure accurate reporting using internal systems
Scheduling & Compliance

Scheduling staff using 7Shifts
-
Ensuring staff are properly trained on internal payroll systems
-
Working closely with payroll to ensure BC Labour standards are followed
Maintenance & Safety

Organizing and obtaining approval for kitchen repairs and maintenance

Managing health and safety standards in the kitchen
