Coal Creek Camping & RV is seeking a mature, dependable, hands-on Park Operator to oversee the day-to-day operations of our campground and RV park located in beautiful Fernie, British Columbia.

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual or couple who enjoy the outdoors, hospitality, customer service, and property management. We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming, safe, and professionally operated campground environment while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in the continued growth and reputation of Coal Creek Camping & RV.

Position Overview

The Park Operator is responsible for the daily operation, guest experience, grounds oversight, and general administration of the campground and RV park.

This is a highly visible role requiring strong organizational skills, professionalism, initiative, and the ability to handle a variety of operational responsibilities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Services & Operations

  • Welcome and assist guests during check-in and throughout their stay
  • Manage reservations, campsite assignments, and guest inquiries
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and efficiently
  • Ensure campground rules and safety standards are followed
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere

Grounds & Facility Oversight

  • Monitor overall campground appearance and cleanliness
  • Coordinate and/or assist with:
    • Washroom and facility inspections and cleaning.
    • Garbage and recycling management
    • Site cleanliness
    • Landscaping and grounds upkeep
    • Minor maintenance and repairs
  • Report larger maintenance or safety concerns promptly

Administration

  • Operate campground reservation and payment systems
  • Maintain accurate occupancy and operational records
  • Assist with social media updates, communication, and guest messaging when required

Leadership & Property Stewardship

  • Help create a positive team culture
  • Support seasonal staff and contractors as required
  • Monitor security and guest conduct
  • Take pride in maintaining the overall guest experience and reputation of the property

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Previous experience in hospitality, campground, RV park, hotel, resort, tourism, or property management
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Basic maintenance and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience with reservation systems, POS systems, or campground software considered an asset
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and peak tourism periods

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation will be based on experience and responsibilities.

Potential compensation package may include:
