RETAIL ASSOCIATE

Want to work in Fernie’s only year-round bike shop this riding season? At Straight Line, we are currently seeking to expand our summer retail staff team. If you live and breathe bikes and want to build a strong connection with the local riding community, we’d love to hear from you!

The role:

As a Retail Sales Associate, you will work as part of our retail team to deliver outstanding sales and rental customer experiences. You will work alongside other team members to:

• Serve customers in purchases of bicycles, apparel, parts and accessories.
• Assist rental customers with their booking process and bike set-up.

Key responsibilities:

Exceptional Customer Service

• Understand the needs of each customer.
• Provide friendly, helpful advice.
• Guide customers through purchasing, booking and rental processes.
• Share your knowledge and passion for bikes with the local riding community and tourists.

Retail Operations

• Ability to use POS, rental and service software’s to deliver a seamless customer experience.
• Complete store opening and closing duties.
• Restocking and merchandising of items on the sales floor.
• Cleaning, recycling and organization.

Product Knowledge

• Motivated to improve product knowledge in order to most effectively guide customer experience.
• Interested in product development and industry standards in order to stay informed on technology developments.

You have:

• 1-2 years of experience in the bike industry or similar retail environment (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of mountain and gravel bikes, components and gear.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• A detail-oriented and organized approach to working in a busy retail environment.
• The ability to work as part of a team to ensure customer satisfaction.

We are currently hiring for a full-time seasonal position at 32 – 40 hours per week, with the possibility to extend to a year-round position for the right candidate.
