Ski Base is seeking an experienced staff member to work on our busy retail floor and lead the merchandising/visual display aspects of our beautiful store in downtown Fernie. Ideally we’re looking for an experienced, mature individual with an eye for detail and exceptional customer service skills.
The position will require a minimum 3 day/week commitment year round. Full-time opportunity (32-36 hours/week) available in our busy times. Ideally seeking someone permanent who will look to grow with the company long-term. Wage dependent on experience and desired schedule.
Desired skills and demonstrated experience:
- Friendly, approachable and enthusiastic about helping people
- Interest in outdoor gear and apparel
- A self-starter who can keep themselves on task and prioritize effectively
- Ability to multi-task and handle varying situations
- Experience working with a retail POS system and cash handling (Lightspeed a bonus!)
- Professional communicator, both verbal and written
- Visual merchandising experience in a retail setting an asset – an eye for detail, creativity, cleanliness, in-store marketing
- Computer literacy (the confidence to embrace technology and learn new things)
- Inventory support – counting, organizing, receiving product
- Continuous learner and open to expanding skillset into other operations of the business
