GearHub Sports is looking for a Senior Service Technician to help lead our workshop through a fast-paced, multi-season environment. This is a hands-on role for an experienced tech who can handle advanced repairs, support workflow across the service department, and set the standard for quality, efficiency, and customer experience.
We’re after someone who is confident on the tools, calm under pressure, and genuinely enjoys helping a workshop run well — whether that means solving a tough mechanical issue, keeping the service queue moving, mentoring junior staff, or stepping in to support other parts of the business when needed.
This is a full-time role, with year-round employment preferred. In winter, the role also expands into ski service.
WHAT THE ROLE LOOKS LIKE DAY TO DAY
- Perform high-level bike repairs and service work including advanced diagnostics, suspension service, wheel building, and e-bike troubleshooting
- Manage service jobs from intake to completion, including detailed service writing, quoting, booking work, and communicating clearly with customers throughout the process
- Act as a senior presence in the workshop by supporting junior technicians, sharing knowledge, and helping maintain a positive, productive team environment
- Maintain a clean, organized, professional workshop and contribute to improvements in workflow, systems, and shop layout
- Support parts ordering, restocking, and inventory accuracy for service-related items
- Work closely with the sales floor, rentals, and e-commerce teams to provide technical support and keep the wider business running smoothly
- Communicate professionally with customers, management, suppliers, reps, and outside service providers
WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO IS
Must have:
- 2+ years of professional bike mechanic experience
- Strong diagnostic ability and confidence working across modern mountain bikes
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing clean, safe, reliable work
- Friendly, professional communication skills with both customers and coworkers
Nice to have:
- Wheel building suspension servicing experience
- Experience in a high-volume service workshop
- Leadership, mentoring, or training experience
- Ski tech experience; ski tuning, mounting, and winter workshop tasks
