What you’ll be doing:
As our Social Media and Marketing Associate, you will be responsible for maintaining and promoting the Fernie Brewing Co. brand across our social media platforms, while supporting a wide range of marketing initiatives. You will bring experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns and social media strategies, along with a proven track record of creating engaging digital content.
This is a fast-paced role requiring a skilled communicator who is creative, highly organized, and self-motivated. You will work collaboratively across departments while contributing to a fun, inclusive work environment rooted in quality, community, collaboration, and mountain culture.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Core responsibilities:
- Developing creative and engaging text, images, reels, and video content across all FBC social media platforms
- Maintaining FBC’s brand identity across all FBC channels and external sites
- Creating and managing content across our website (WordPress) and online store (Shopify)
- Photography including packaging, lifestyle, social, and merchandise for digital and print
- Creating internal and external newsletters
- Product planning support including beer naming, trademark research, sales support, and product registration
- Attending marketing events (some evenings and weekends required)
- Responding to social media customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Supporting product planning initiatives as needed
- Assisting with a variety of other general marketing and design functions as required
Shared Responsibilities:
- Light design work including promotional materials, signage, and advertisements
- Acting as a main point of contact for suppliers, printers, and content creators
- Overseeing sponsorship requests with support from the Brand Manager
- Organization and maintenance of the Marketing Department’s SharePoint and project management systems (Asana)
- Overseeing FBC’s bi-annual Sales Conference including planning, editing presentations, and booking venues
- Assisting with coordination and execution of internal staff events throughout the year
Requirements:
- Diploma in Marketing, Communications, New Media, or related field preferred
- Proven work experience in social media and digital marketing
- Excellent written communication skills with strong proofreading, grammar, and content creation abilities
- Experience creating and managing successful social media campaigns (Instagram, Facebook)
- Experience with Photoshop for photography manipulation
- WordPress experience
- Understanding of SEO and targeted marketing
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities
- Photography skills with a desire to develop further
- Legally able to work in Canada
- A passion for the craft beer industry
This is a full-time, permanent role and is approximately 40 hours per week Monday-Friday during business hours. We offer a competitive compensation package, including dental, medical and lifestyle benefits, as well as great perks such as a merchandise allowance.
