Job Summary

The Crusher Supervisor oversees daily crushing operations at various mine sites. This role is responsible for supervising crew members, ensuring safe and efficient plant operations, maintaining production targets, coordinating equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Supervise daily crusher and screening plant operations.
  • Coordinate crushing activities to meet production schedules and quality standards.
  • Monitor material feed, throughput, and stockpile management.
  • Ensure efficient operation of conveyors, crushers, screens, loaders, and support equipment.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and minimize downtime.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, train, and mentor crusher operators and labor crews.
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor employee performance.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce company safety policies and provincial/federal regulations.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and hazard assessments.
  • Ensure all crew members use proper PPE and safe work procedures.
  • Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Maintain environmental compliance standards.

Maintenance Coordination

  • Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs with mechanics.
  • Perform routine inspections of crushing equipment.
  • Track wear parts and operational deficiencies.

Production & Quality Control

  • Monitor product gradation and material quality.
  • Maintain daily production reports and operating records.
  • Work with management to improve plant efficiency and reduce costs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in aggregate crushing, mining, or heavy construction operations.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of crushing plants and heavy equipment preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license; Class 1 or heavy equipment certifications considered an asset.
